Most of the people who have one of my puppies have either came back for a 2nd puppy a year later, or have been recommended by someone. And if they have never met me before they usually are on the phone 2 or 3 times so we get to know each other. I enjoy these phone calls so don't be afraid to call and don't let this application scare you. These questions I am asking are important questions to anyone considering any pet.

When I got Chip and Dale, I knew nothing of this breed. And if you care you learn. You learn because you want to do what is best for your puppy, which in the long run is also best for you both.

An accepted application
I only take 4 names per litter, once I have approved your application and accepted your deposit your name will be put on the " Litter of your choice" List. Picking is done in order that your deposit has been received. It does not matter whether you want to pick a boy or a girl, but since I have other families who also are looking for a puppy or someone who did not get the puppy of their choice on litter that might have been born around the same time frame. I expect to know as soon as the puppies are born, what you want. Male??? Female??? I want everyone to be happy. I won't ask you to pick your puppy before the others pick, but if you have a preference " Please let me Know" This way if you have picked a boy and there were only 2 boys and someone from another didn't get their boy. I can tell them, either yes. That 1st or 2nd boy has become available, or I can tell them. I am sorry. There are no boys available. This is a common courtesy DEFINITION " the showing of politeness in one's attitude and behavior toward others." This family can instead of waiting for weeks for you to decide, and we all know what even waiting for a puppy is like " It's a happy time, but it's also a stressful time" Filled with excitement and hope. Imagine that family who wanted a girl, but only boys were born. And there just might be a girl available for them on the list your on. Please be courteous . Think about these other families too. If you are on my list and have given me your deposit and your are not willing to at least to let me know whether you want a boy or a girl so I can try to make sure everyone gets their puppy who wanted one. Your deposit will be forfeited, and you will be removed from the list totally. " Additional note" As the breeder of these wonderful little Angels, I listen to my heart and my gut. This is only an application which gives me a feel of the family I have accepted on the waiting list. No sale is final or promise of sale is final, until the puppies are ready to leave and final payment is made, and both me " The Breeder and You the Buyer have signed the contract/ 5 year health guarantee, which is on the day the puppy is handed over to you. Along with this payment you will receive a contract from me and a 5 year health guarantee. A copy of the contract is sent to you prior to the final day to either approve or not, or ask any questions you may have. Once that contract is signed by you and returned to me, we are well on our way to you becoming the perfect family and have the criteria I look for in finding homes for our wonderful babies. We have soooooo many wonderful families. Picking a puppy usually begins aprox 6 weeks old, and if there looks to be tinies within any of the litters, those puppies will be held back and placed on the Tiny list and at a later date after special health testing for tinies as well as spay or nutered those puppies will be priced according to the small size puppies "
We do carry small lines in a few of our girls and boys and evaluation of those puppies can't usually be determined until 6 weeks or beyond. They are all born the same, all behave the same and it's not until much later that this can be determined. I don't breed for tinies " It just happens"

PLEDGE FOR NEW DOG/ PUPPY ADOPTERS • I Pledge to make a reasonable commitment of time and effort, and to affect scheduling and lifestyle changes in order to make this a successful adoption. • I pledge to make sure that my dog/puppy is not exposed to the elements of weather without proper shelter, shade cover, dry ground, and access to fresh water and at least 1 hour of loving companionship and play a day (I understand that this is a minimum and will strive to keep the Dog/puppy with me as much as possible and treat him/her as an important member of my family) • I pledge to provide appropriate and timely veterinary care for the life of my dog/puppy • I pledge to keep this dog/puppy indoors at night and to include him/her in the activities of the household while we are home as much as possible • I pledge to provide my dog/puppy with mental stimulation in the form of either play, interactive toys, training or off-territory leash walks DAILY • I pledge to provide my dog with enough training and/or behavioural management so as to enable him to be a welcomed part of my community or managed safely • I pledge to provide a home in which my dog clearly knows there are certain rules to which I will insist on and he can count on • I will not allow my dog/puppy to run free/out of control and chase cars, bicycles, children etc. • If need be I will seek professional help to get my dog to be quiet, or keep him quiet both when I am home and away, so as not to disturb my neighbours • I pledge to get professional help if my dog has or develops behaviour or temperament problems • I pledge to keep my dog groomed and free of parasites and matting • I pledge that if I have to move residences for any reason, I am aware that finding housing that accepts pets can take longer than average, but that I will commit to moving with my dog/puppy, as I would move with a member of my family • I pledge that if, for any reason, I can no longer keep this dog/puppy, I will NOT abandon this dog/puppy, and I will return him/her to Chip and Dale Shih Tzu’s. We are not a dog shelter, but a home where there are many Shih Tzu’s loved and cared for by us. This cost money, to make sure they eat great, are in good health. Have regular vet checks and vaccinations. When puppies are to be born. Everything is done to ensure that they get the best possible care as well as their first set of shots/ vet visit etc. So they can be adopted with us knowing that we have done everything we could so you could raise a happy and healthy dog. / Puppy. We are unable to give refunds for dogs/ that are returned but may be able to work something out if the dogs are young enough to find a new home. Adopting a dog/puppy is a big responsibility, please make sure you are emotionally and financially capable of dealing with a new family member who will rely solely on you for his/her care. Should you not be able to keep this dog/puppy for any reason, it must be returned to Chip and Dale’s Shih Tzu’s. We do everything in our power to see that our puppies are healthy at time of adoption. From time to time there are health problems in dogs/puppies that have not been diagnosed and may be found at a later date. Chip and Dale Shih Tzu’s accepts financial responsi- bility for dogs/puppies only while they are under our care. We accept no financial responsibility for dogs/puppies once they have been adopted. Adopters shall have the opportunity to have dogs/puppies they may wish to adopt checked by their own veterinarian at their own expense before adoption. A “Five year Health Guarantee is offered with every adoption” This guarantees that if for some reason there is something in my breeding that caused this dog/puppy to die I will replace said puppy. A letter from your Veterinarian stating that it was something genetic will have to given to me. Chip and Dale Shih Tzu’s. Shih Tzu’s are well known for having small hernias. These are not usually life threatening and subsequently usually disappear on their own. They can also be repaired at the time of spay/neutering. They are usually the direct result of the birthing process. I will not be responsible for any expense or replacing a dog because of this . I have read this entire document and fully understand both the contract and my responsibility for this dog/puppy.
